Hey Guys,

Fall is here and so are the winds and waves! I hope you have been able to get out and enjoy the conditions. The winds have been pretty good so far with warm air and water temps. Waves have been really good on both Michigan coasts. I have been SUP surfing and kite surfing Lexington as the winds have been north which brings in some great swell wrapping around the south side of the break wall and producing some nice clean lefts! I also just got a session in Whitehall on Sat. There were a combination of surfers, Stand Up Surfers and Kiteboarders! We are very fortunate to live is such a versatile place for water sports. We still will have another 3 weeks or more before the real cold weather hits so get out there and enjoy the water before the snow flies!

For your cold water needs GLK has an assortment of cold water wetsuits, booties, gloves and hoods to extend your season. We are carrying Neil Pryde 5/3 5000 and 3000 series semi dry suites and 4/3 Hyperflex Cyclone wetsuits. We also carry Hyperflex 3 and 5mm gloves, booties and hoodies. This will totally extend your season on the water.

So as we are getting to the end of the kiting and SUP season GLK has a ton of killer closeouts on Wainman Hawaii, Best Kiteboarding, Slingshot Sports, Jimmy Lewis and Kahuna Land Paddle Big Sticks and Longboards. Check them out here: http://www.greatlakeskiteboarding.com/inde...rt&Itemid=2

New 2012 kite products are arriving daily!

Best Kiteboarding just came out with a new full on C kite called the GP. The GP is team rider designed, tuned and tested and delivers an unbeatable combination of pop, responsive steering and amazing unhooked feel. If youíre a progressive rider looking for a killer C kite look no further. Best is also putting together an incredible Kite and Board package with the new V4 Kahuna and Spark Board. The Kahuna is an all-around do everything kite that is the easiest re- launching kite I have ever ridden. GLK uses the Kahunaís kite in our school as we have seen studentsí progress faster and quicker than any other kite we have ever used. This Kahuna kite and board package will start at an incredible $1575! http://www.bestkiteboarding.com/

Slingshot is still killing it in the kite department and we were happy to stoke people out on the Rally kite this season. The Rally blends C kite DNA from both our legendary Fuel and RPM, and then mixes the third element of the Delta shaping to create the industry first Open Delta C kite. The Rally and the new Open Delta C kite platform will deliver all the desirable features of a Delta coupled with the performance of a C kite. This kite does it all and more! For a demo contact GLK. Slingshot also has a new kiteboard called the Mayhem that caters to the top PKRA riders and aggressive intermediates to offer insane grip, pop, speed and control in an outline that lends consistent flex and unreal loading capabilities. The Mayhem has a contoured outline from tip to tail and precise thickness which allows hard carving. Slingshot also redesigned the new 2012 Misfit which offers a new outline, deck profile and Twin Channels, for more edging capability, consistent load with flex control, excellent upwind drive, and insane pop. With a weight reduction of .5 lbs (110g), the Misfit is designed by Tony Logosz. Letís not forget about Slingshots surf line! These boards are the real deal! Beautiful Bamboo construction offers the lightest and strongest board around! The best part is that most of all the Slingshot boards are built in the USA!! http://ride.slingshotsports.com/kites

Last but no least letís not forget about the new 2nd generation Wainman Hawaii Rabbit kites. With 2 new added sizes and a completely redesigned bar. These kites have been killing it which is why they are GLKís best sellers. Sick graphics and an incredible ride for every type of kiting! For a demo contact GLK or come on in and check them out first hand! http://www.wainmanhawaii.com/

With our water season coming to an end letís not forget about our Snowkinting season! I still love snowkiting just as much as water kiting. No lift lines or high prices to ride a small hill. Snowkiting is more accessible as all you need is a snow frozen lake, farmers field, golf course, soccer or football field and your ripping your way across untouched powder! GLK has now been teaching on snow for the last 10 years and can teach anyone in half the time than water. Itís easy and fun and a great way to enjoy our long winter months. GLK will start teaching as soon as the conditions are conduciveÖnormally Dec. through March. If you are interested check out our snowkiting page here: http://www.greatlakeskiteboarding.com/inde...=6&Itemid=4

If you have any questions feel free to contact GLK at the number below or stop by our St. Clair Shores location.

Gotta chime in on the Neil Pryde 5/3 5000 wetsuit. Love that suit, solid, *quality* build, great fit, and plenty flexible for kiting. Made November 9th feel like July. OK, OK, my face got a little cold. But if anyone is considering one, go for it.
