Just got back from a week on Hatteras Island with the Motor City Kiteboarding crew. 7 for 7! Yep. Kited every day. 6 - 14 M kites. I hadn't been to Hatteras in a couple of years and I can't wait to go back. Oh yeah, I'm going in 6 days. The place is made for downwinders. Its still pre-season there, but fortunately Mark K. can cook as well as he can kite. Several of us had Go Pro cameras. They are awesome. Waiting on editing software now. It was a great group and a great time. Definitely on my to do list for next year.

Marty am in next year if I can find someone to fly down with and share a car with. Hoping Mark Pleatman is up to speed to ride there next year so he can fly down with me. Did you fly down? I am not prepared to take the drive ever. Looking forward to seeing the video of the cook and rocketman plus crew.

That trip was AWESOME! We need to do it again next year. No PASA course for me. Marty you need to come up to Tawas sometime.

ORK
Jitters,

I didn't get a chance to grab your autograph in the OBX, will you sign my kites, board, harness, and boardies? I couldn't tell if it was Dimitri or Jitters on the water at times. Good seeing you shreddin brother.

I was glad to be a part of the 2nd annual HOBX 2011 (Hair on the Balls) Hatteras trip again this year. We had great accommodations right on the sound and could launch and land from our backyard. We had perfect weather, excellent food (thanks Chef Mark) and a real cool group of people (Mark, Luke, John, Marty, Blake and Garret). It was too bad Tom could not join us again this year, but I heard he is going to be a pro surfer in CA. It was great to hang with our homeboy Mr. Bryan Elkus again. Word has it at the end of the summer Byran is moving on from Real.

I gave poker lessons (book to follow), Mark missed his calling as a chef (pesto eggs baby), Blake managed to destroy every piece of gear he tested (and borrowed) and Luke was instrumental in reading my Jeep manual and giving instructions (while we were axel deep in sand).

Good wind, good times, good people. Count me in for next year!

John

I don't know who Matthew is, but I wish you'd had a wolfie!

I was there about 3 weeks ago and it already feels like it's time to go back!

Did you guys do any ocean-side downwinders with the dolphins? I had two about 20 feet from me for about a mile - it was incredible!
ORK
Wolf,

Lots of ocean sessions, I didn't see the dolphins or sharky but we did slice the pie over and over, HOTBX 2012 will be bigger and the food epicurious!

Lets not forget the Yuengling, traditional Hatteras beverage of choice, the Turtle Grey Goose Spicy Bloody Mary is top notch also!
