Kite U.S. Forums > KiteMI & Ontario Canada Forum > Where are you riding on the Great Lakes?
I just had my second day out on Sandusky Bay. Its very well frozen over between the Dempsey fishing access and Johnson's Island. A lot of other places look iffy, if not actually open water, but with all this cold, which is supposed to last at least another week, it ought to be REALLY good this winter.

Who else is up for some hard ice kiting? Sharp skis and a helmet are required.
Dempsey Fishing Access should be great this weekend, with SW winds, especially Sunday.

This is a great place for kiting. There are two choices of sheltered spots to land your kite easily, either behind the breakwall, or behind a point just West of the fishing access area. Ice is thick, and should be snow covered this weekend.

Here's some video from December. Ice was thick and safe then. Its got to be way thicker now, and snow covered.
