Just checked out a new spot close to Windsor that will likely be a great spot for wind directions similar to Belle River. It is at the foot of Manning Road at Riverside. St. Clair Beach now actually has a Beach.

Great Parking. There used to be a golf course here but they have converted it to a park and removed part of the breakwall and placed a beach. I saw a few windsurfers accessing the lake from here a few weeks ago. Even though the wind was not that great today I decided to give it a try.

Good space to set up a kite but the beach is more wood chips than sand. There was quite a bit of seaweed at the waters edge but it was packed down and my lines just skimmed over them when I brought my kite out for a drift launch. It was a bit muddy for about 10 feet out but not nearly as bad as Puce.

The water was less than waist deep for more than 150 yards out.

Overall I think a great new option especially since it is only 2 miles from my office. For the Americans out there it would take about 15 to 20 minutes off your commute compared to Belle River.

Here is a picture from the beach area I took a few days ago.

We used to windsurf at a small pumping station next to Beachgrove golf course just up the street from Manning Rd. but not much parking. The new beach at Manning Rd. will be a good option.
