Assuming the winds are blowing in the right direction and the swim buoys have been removed, is Fairport Harbor a decent place for beginners to practice?

I had a "didn't turn out so good" session at Mentor. I was hoping to get a more robust response to my post regarding Fairport Harbor because I think it is far more beginner friendly than Mentor, and closer than Conneaut (apparently an excellent place for beginners but too far away for week day sessions).

The list of kite spots provided is an excellent resource (provided by Joel, who, by the way is a really nice guy - awsome kiter too!) I'm going to give Fairport a shot - I'll let you know how it goes.

Good luck with the kiting.

Give me a heads up when you might go up and I ll try to make it there! Want to get it down b4 snow kiting time

The wind direction today is looking better for Mentor rather than Fairport - I might drop by later and have a peek. I'll give you a heads up as to when I plan on going to Fairport.

I might see you there. what time are you heading out?

I purchased a kite anchor a while back, so if nothing else, I'll practice some self launching and landing.

Skunked. The front sucked out all the wind.
