Full Version: Wind Forecast - Sources / Accuracy

What does everyone use as a resource for wind forecasts and accurate readings? I've spent a decent amount of time searching around but there are generally pretty vast discrepancies between sources.

So, for NE Ohio (or any portion of Erie) what's the best place online to get a wind forecast?

Let me know.

This is what I open in my "wind" folder:
Missing Joel's site (what is that link?)
Our Cleveland Crib is down as is Conneaut. I think the last big front really took Conneaut out.

Funny! Seems great until you find a Cleveland T-storm line going 50 mph barreling down on you while you are on your 16M.

Seriously it is not really difficult. I just right click on the folder and select open in tabs. Then close the ones that do not suit me for that particular search! Each to his own...right?

Hans - The site is: http://gnarwind.com

Light weight, made for a cell phone browser. Updates when buoys update so usually about once an hour. Only Lake Erie right now.

Joel,

You should add the station at Fairport. It is out at the lighthouse and gives a good view of the headlands conditions.

What are we doing here posting? Mentor has been going off for the past 4 hours! So what's the name of that wind fairy Mark?
