Can anyone tell me where I can learn to snow kite in ohio - indiana this winter?
Frank, welcome to KiteOh!

There is a list of schools on the Homepage of our sister site

Your closest option is Red Sky Kiteboarding in Toledo and their information can be found on the link above. There is a Michigan Shop, Red Belly Kiteboarding in Ann Arbor, MI and they will do lessons near the MI/OH border.

If you find an instructor that is not on our school listing beware.

If you go to the Michigan Discussion Board you will find a ton of information in the Resource Section How to, frequently asked questions, knowledge center and used gear for sale are just a few sections to browse.

Words of Advice

1. Be sure to take lessons, learning on your own is dangerous!

2. If you have not bought gear, wait until after you are trained. For snow kiting instruction the kite and harness are supplied. Possibly the the snowboard, skis or landboard may also be, but ask.

3. After training go ask questions on the discussion board about makes, models and what gear will be best for you. The more you educate yourself before buying anything, the better off you will be. Everyone on the forum was a beginner at one time and will be more than happy to answer questions.

Good Luck!
