H2OKiter
Hi All,

Welcome to the new KiteMI.com forum. I want to let you know about the local forum for Northern Lower MI at http://www.h2okiteboarding.com. You'll find the latest info there. I'll be working to bring lots of regional information to this forum but until we get that done check out my site.

Northern Michigan has many excellent spots to kite and many more places that are still to be discovered. We have a variety of shorelines with everything from massive sand dunes to pure bedrock beaches. Its clean and scenic with out the industrial landmarks of Southern Michigan. As for crowds you'll most likely ride solo or with only a few locals.

If you need any help finding a place to ride or the locals? Feel free to contact me. I can be reached at

Check out the riders guide on my website. http://www.h2okiteboarding.com/H2OKB/Guide/Guide.html

Petobego and Maple bay (same spot different parking locations) are great. Shallow and friendly. a hike from the parking but worth it. Call me for directions, I'll try and get that one up on the site soon.

The other spots are Esch Rd and Platte River and those are on the website in full detail.

Other spots like Point Betsie you need to be an intermediate kiter with full upwind skills before you ride there.

Give me a shout if you need more help or info.
