I am staying at the Tawas Beach Resort with the family. I will have my boat and/or jet skis so I can zip across the bay to the event site without driving (SWEET).

I do have (2) camp sites that I am not going to use if anyone wants them.
1. Site 197 8/17 to 8/19 $70
2. Site 126 8/18 to 8/20 $70

Event Schedule (Tentative)

Boarder cross: We will set up buoys around the point and the bay depending on the wind direction.

Big air comp: If the wind is up let's see how high you can jump.

Expression session: All the riders that enter will ride for one hour throwing their best tricks. The riders and spectators will judge the event.

Sliders and kickers: That's right we are going to have some stuff to hit also. (Advanced riders only please)

The event will take place on Tawas Point and we will have a boat to charter people out there. We plan on having a tent set up and a BBQ with free hot dogs and what ever else we can grill

Light Wind Activities

Mountain Boarding - I have (4) MBS demo mountain boards
Kite Buggy - I will have my Peter Lynn Kite Buggy if anyone wants to give it a try

No Wind Activities

Wake Kiting - Yet another Wind related toy in my quiver www.WakeKite.com

After Party

Tentatively the after party & awards ceremony are going to be held at the Tawas Beach Resort. They have inside and outside bars and decks that should be able to accommodate us.

Can you say SWINGGGGGGG! Take a look below at the forecast for Tawas!

A group of us are heading up in the early am Thursday Morning.

Ryan has invited anyone needing a place to crash over his house. He is about 10 miles south of Tawas on Lake Huron. There is a large lot next to his house and a great beach everyone can use. He said just bring a tent and anything else you need to survive in the wild.

The after party may end up at Ryan's place and www.KiteMI.com has sponsored a Keg of BEER at Ryan's lake front villa.

I wish you would have said something before I reserved that camp site. rolleyes.gif But its all good. I prefer having a spot to stay closer to the sailing spot. Anyone who wants to join me is still welcome.

I'm planning on leaving right after work Friday, so I may need a place to crash late Friday night.

Tawas Nuked W NW 30+ on Friday and Monday 20-25 E SE. Flat water of the Bay on Friday and a great wave session on Monday lake side. Ohio Saul rode his 25.5M Slingshot Machine and DC from TC rode his light wind 19M Silver Surfer Saturday and it was also a great day to see the next generation of rippers flying trainers and riding landboards (Shane 10yrs, Scout 8yrs & Garret 7yrs). Ryan's pad was the Ultimate party house (Thanks Ryan). The 200 feet deep Lake Huron beach was perfect for our tent city, bon fires and kegger.

There are way too many highlights to list, but here are just a few I remember;

  • Ohio Jerry rolled down the bluff and survived (stairs are over rated)
  • Hot Dr. Karl strummed on the Guitar and sang tunes for hours (who knew he was talented)
  • Several un-named individuals were involved in naked events on the beach at 3am
  • Elkus & Ryan made front page of the Bay City times Sat
  • Jared literally flew in just in time to score on a the Friday session
  • Who can forget the Black Tail remnants showing up in cars, luggage, tents and anywhere else Joel could stuff them.
LeFeve, Kyle, Elkus, Tin Man, Ryan, Joel, Lando, Jared and a bunch of others were KILLING it in the ankle deep bay water on Friday. I thought my 28.5mph speed run would hold, but DC from TC came in at 33mph and Lando smoked it with 38.2mph. The Wake kite got some use on Saturday and Sunday with AirForce & Arnet at the controls.

Another Real Cool annual event to add to our list here in Michigan. Let's do it again in a couple weeks at KOGL!

What else happened that I forgot about?

John
