Has anyone found a mast extension near the windsurfing launch at the blue lagoon? A mast extension is about a foot long and 2" diameter.

Thanks,
Jason

The Blue Lagoon Marina passes are now available!!! The north side of the peninsula is ready to go and I'm working with the marina on the south side location. Annual Pass of $25 gets you into one of - if not the best NW locations on Lake St. Clair. Located in Harrison Twp. not too far from Metro Beach. The water is clear and blue, the bottom is sandy, the depth is approximately 3-5' deep for 400 yards in any direction. The site is still a work in progress but my connection with the marina has allowed me to gain access for the wind and kite community.

This site is a gem and I want to share it so I'm asking everyone to be super respectful to everyone you come in contact with at the marina and be very aware of the surroundings. Rigging and parking areas are not identified just yet, so for now: Don't park on the grass, Don't park near the access.

I've sailed a WNW, NW, and N so far and have found that the water is much
cleaner than both Metro and the S.River Boat Launch. To my surprise I
could still touch the sandy weed free bottom while keeping my head above
water when I was 300-400 yards offshore on both the North and
East side of the peninsula. The Marina is still in a transitional
phase so I can having some rocks and trees moved. The Marina
is also willing put in an access on the bay side of the peninsula. If
they put an access on the south side then this site will work for anything
but a W!!! The rigging area isn't ideal yet but the location is
awesome.

Positive things about the site
Proximity - NW without the long drive
Clean water
Shallow water
They plan to have a beer tent once a month till September

Negative things about the site
There is a walk between grassy rigging area and launch
Narrow access to the water
Have to buy a pass $25 and its good for the remainder of 2008
A few Kite obstructions, and some debris [cleanup in progress]

I will have passes with me so just ask around for 'windsurfer Jason' and I can sell you one.

Thank you,
Jason
