Hey I'm coming back to Michigan at the end of the month. I'm going to be bringing my gear, and I'm going to be by Metro, but I'll be spending most of my time up north by Atlanta. Anyone know of a good spot to kite up there? Thunder Bay have kiters on the forums here? Is the wind up there good?

I'm bringing my 13.5 Cult... it's all I'll have room for. Should I bring my 9 or 13.5? I'm thinking the 13.5 will be a better option, but i dunno the wind up north. I never kited up there before.

I figured I would make myself a board. read a bunch of stuff online about it. looked easy, really is. Just took me forever to sand it because i didn't have a belt sander, only a freakin FINISHING SANDER!! trust me, use a belt sander... cuts your time by 7/8ths.

I used 1/2 in. pressure treated plywood for this board. I just cut a piece of cardboard to use as a corner stencil, marked it up and cut it with a jigsaw. I put a bottom up edge on it, left the top part mostly flat. It has a natural rocker (warped wood). the dimensions are 5 feet by 18 inches

i am just using some sandals i bought from wal-mart for my footpads and bicycle wheel innertube for my heelstraps. when i get the finished coating of waterproofing and the footpads installed i will post new pictures of the board.

QUESTION ALERT!!
to attach the footpads i have epoxy. i am wondering if i should use screws and epoxy or just epoxy. I am going to put 2 screws on each footpad already for the heelstraps.

if you have any pointers lemme know. here is a pic of the top of the board nothin special on this side.

I'm down in Georgia, about to go rip it apart off of Jekyll Island in the atlantic. If anyone is around the area I'm going to be out there pretty much every weekend.

I've seen some videos of kiters with the footage coming from the kites. This is just freakin awsome in my opinion. Anyhow my question arises from some of the videos have a black box outlining the camera... its probably a waterproof box for the camera im sure... where would i go about finding some gear to attach a camera to my kite as well as waterproffing my camera?

anyone with experience with cameras on their kites let me know what kind of camera you used, like digital video, dvd recorder or whatever... i need to get a camera to do my "Kite Across America" video. I'm down here in GA and moving to Hawaii, so I thought I'd kite here, FL, Michigan where I'm from and Cali when I get there and of course end up in Hawaii on Oahu.
