I know the forecast looks solid for the Tawas event but incase it falters or is light on Saturday and Sunday. I suggest that we to a light wind gear test if we end up with low wind conditions. So I would like to invite everyone to bring there best light wind setup for a lightwind kite and board test.

I'm going to bring my Sliver Arrow2 and my Rhino2 20m. Along with my Spleene Door and a plydoor. I know a buddy will have a 14m Contra2 and Contra3's there too. It would be a fun deal to put them to a simple test. Noting if the rider can go upwind along with the wind speed and rider weight.

This is a fun project and is just meant to find out what works or at least pass the time if its a low wind day.

Hi All,

Maybe you have noticed that H2Okiter.com has gone offline. This is due to a messed up domain. But the good news is that it has caused me to do a full site rework that I have been planning for months. Also please note that old email addresses are now dead and I now have the same addresses with @h2okiteboarding.com instead of the old @h2okiter.com

The new site is http://www.h2okiteboarding.com. This site will contain all the good features of the old site plus a new dynamic frontpage that will eliminate the old stale content on the old one.

The forum is online again too and will be integrated in to the new site as soon as I figure out the code and make it work.

Please check out the new site and let me know what you think, and check back often because it will be changing rapidly as I bring new features online.

We are proud to announce the 2nd annual TC Kite Derby. Winter has returned to Northern Michigan and event preparations have begun. Last Years event was great and we are hoping for a bigger and better event this year.

The Kite Derby is a free ride event, meaning that it is a free form event with an emphasis on fun and good times. Events will be held as weather allows. Last year we were blessed with some of the best snow kiting conditions ever, we hope for more of the same this year.

I just wanted to drop a line and let people know that we now have a kite school open. We are based in Traverse City and offer instruction on the bays and the Lake Michigan coast.

A bit about our program; We teach using the IKO system and offer IKO rider certification. IKO rider certification allows you to rent equipment from IKO centers located around the world. We specialize in one on one instruction, no camps or large groups. We offer beginning and intermediate instruction along with guided tours of the local riding spots. As a new program we have the all new bowhybrid kites, and we are the only school in Michigan using the GK Sonic.

If you make it up to TC stop by the shop and say hi. Also feel free to call the shop for the local’s forecast on where to ride, we’ll hook you up with the local crew. It's always more fun to ride with new people.

For more information visit http://www.h2okiter.com or Contact Grand Bay Kite at http://www.grandbaykite.com or 231-929-0607
