Hey Guys,
It is my sincerest pleasure to introduce SessionAlert to you.

I've been working on SessionAlert for about a year now and the time has FINALLY come to share it with the local crew!

Here's the basic idea:
    - pull into a riding spot, look around and see if it's good
    - pull out your phone and with a few button presses kindly report the conditions to your local crew

It's meant to get us there when it's good and to save us from driving there when it's bad!

The condition report (called a SessionAlert) gets posted on the SessionAlert website and it's delivered to users as text or email alerts, which are free.

Check it out and let me know what you think. For starters sign up for the alerts and try posting a SessionAlert to the location named "Test".

If you have an iphone, iPad, or an Android phone bookmark this page: www.sessionalert.com/webapp

If you're using a PC or MAC go to the full page: www.sessionalert.com

Over the next few weeks a lot more features will become available and I'll get the webapp working for Blackberry. I don't know if the webapp works on Windows phones yet, but if someone reading this post could let me know, that woudl be great!

One last thing: Please don't post about SessionAlert on other forums yet. I know we're going to have a few bugs to workout over these first intial weeks and I'd rather keep it contained to us during that period.

I look forward to hearing what people think!

Thanks!

Awesome Wolfman !! i never thought you'd ever finish it.
all the while thinking i'd just keep testing the beta version untill i get
too old to kite anymore.

Ok, now that it's done, could you please put in five short
bullet points on how a poor average joe kiter is going to
use it. Without having to read your detailed chapter
of a book in the post above this.

And about time too !! now that our local weather oracle
and fellow countryman has orphaned us here for the
golden state. Thursday seems to be a metro day.

And now for the real list!

(I edited this list on April 16th because it's easier now.)

Just go to http://www.sessionalert.com and join. It will guide you through setting up text or email alerts. It's very easy.

Try it guys... the more of us that use it the more effective it will be!

You guys need to pay attention because this is my replacement. My digits will still work and if you call me I'll tell still tell you what the wind is doing but it may not correlate to what's happening there.

I've been part of the beta testing of this program and it's simple to use and spot on for the info you need to know on whether or not to go. Wolfie has put a ton of effort into this and it's probally the single greatest tool you'll have at your disposal for the decision making process.

Wolfie... let me know when the bugs are worked out and I'll introduce the folks out here to it.

Guys,
I just added a weather forecast tool. Just choose "Weather" from the app homepage. Then choose the riding location from the drop-down list. It looks great on iphone and android, and should work on PCs and MACs too. This is pretty cool, if I do say so myself! biggrin.gif

Hi Guys,

I'll be posting the first real SessionAlert from Metro today around 2 or 3.

From a PC or a MAC you'll see it show up right on the homepage: www.SessionAlert.com. If you've signed up for text or email alerts, you'll be instantly notified. If you're on a phone with internet access you can see it on the web app: www.sessionalert.com/webapp.

Whew hew, can't wait! I hope it blows! By the way, does anyone know if the ice is clear from metro?

if you're using an iphone or android phone just go the webapp - it's simpler - www.sessionalert.com/webapp.

We all owe that man a beer!

I've got extra stuff. We can share if you want to go sometime. I just don't have an extra harness.
