Hey!
I'm from the Detroit metro area. I'm heading to Lion's Head, ON this coming WE for a rock climbing trip. It's supposed to be windy too, so I checked kitesurfing spots in that area. I found out about Sauble Beach in the following article
http://kiteboardingmag.com/features/2010/0...ontario-canada/

Anybody knows that area? Any advise, comment etc?...
Thanks, Julien

Merdre! You lucky Frenchmen! I have quite a bit of info about the area, but it might be a bit late for you to read now. They actually have laws in place and have been working a lot with the govt. this year to find a balance with the kiters. Here is a thread with the latest regulations from the spring:

Bon aventure mon frere!

Hey!

I ended up going to Oliphant. I tried Oliphant South on Sat and Oliphant North yesterday. The info I found on this site were very accurate.
http://localkitespots.com/kitesurfing/Onta...75&static=1

Both spots are great for beginners. On the North side, the water are ankle deep for 300ft, then knee deep for another 500ft. So the area is great for "mowing the lawn", but you had to go very far to jump safely. The wind was blowing W 20knots solid yesterday. No gusts. Great conditions...
The south side was very similar. Just a smaller scale and therefore better in my opinion.

Merci pour les infos Vlad!!
