Is there any place to ride lake erie in MI? Maybe Detroit Beach, Woodland Beach, Sterling State Park or that enrico fermi nuclear power plant?

sorry there, but no dice. only aq couple of "marginal" spots! we ride sterling(ssp) in fall and spring and i personally ride brest bay marina on s,sw . waves at sterling and flat shallow at brest

Try posting this on the Kite Ohio forum www.KiteOH.com there is a good group of guys that ride in and around the Ohio Michigan border. There is a shop in Toledo that might be able to confirm which spots to ride at what times of the year. Their number can be found in our Shops/Retailers tab on www.KiteMI.com

I will try and get the Lake Erie tab on www.KiteMI.com populated soon.

You can ride at Breast Bay. You need a SSW wind there to be very good. When you go through the gate you just need to go down and park on the left hand side and set up on the beach there. The launch isn't the best but it works. Try not to get your lines in the green algea. The shit won't come off your lines very easy and can creat a huge mess with your lines. Anyway, once you get there and get out it is a great place to ride. Very shallow throughout the whole bay and there is a boating channel to the right as you look out that is deep if you don't want to hit the bottom on a bad landing. Just make sure there is plenty of South in the wind or it is gusty and shitty. -Aaron
