Hi everybody,

I'm moving to Columbus OH to start a new job at Nationwide Insurance. I'm moving from Pittsburgh, where I just graduated and I want to start doing some more interesting sports and try some new things. My uncle kite surfs and he is having a blast with it. It is literally all he talks about.

So, I know there is no real big water around Columbus, but just North there are the finger lakes, Erie and Michigan and I figured they would be good for kiteboarding. The problem is, I have no idea how kite surf and no experience. My uncle lives in Maryland, so I don't really have time for him to show me before I move. I'm looking for maybe a group of people that I could go with and they could help me out, so I can see if I like it. Alternatively, I would also be looking for some sort of lessons/camp if people thing thats a better way to get started.

I tried googling for kitesurfing lessons in OH, but I can't really find anything. Let me know what you think for a newcomer. Thanks.

We're up here in Toledo!

www.redskytoledo.com.

There's a few core guys in Columbus that ride Alum Creek. Make friends with them
to learn where to ride and where not to.

We ride Erie at Maumee Bay state park a lot and travel all over Erie

Sounds awesome man. Is there an easy way to find them, like on this forum?
