After checking the forecast for the next week the decision was easy: Load up, Pile in, and Floor it all the way to Hatteras! Looks like high 60's - low 70s and SW 15-20 everyday.

Hopefully you'll get some back here and the season will be in full effect when we get back.

Just back from the OBX. We got the full gammit, sun, wind, rain, no wind, overpowered, underpowered and every thing in between. Several highlights:

Watching Drew break through on the Salvo to Bartons downwinder. Handling a 12m kite when we were totally powered on 10s and 12s, Drew was ripping both ways, staying upwind, and almost completing transitions.

Riding the island slicks in a light rain at Kitty Hawk on the morning we drove in. Blowing about 17 W which is onshore there and a bit holey. Great release from 13 hours in the Naish Van.

Sippin high lifes in the Hottub with a gorgeous sounside sunset view, noticing a white and blue Torch riding solo. Realizing it was JDValentino getting a mellow, flat run from north of Avon down towards KP.

The Best was dropping in on the Real boys at the Slick with JD the Shaman. It was nuking, 30 + gusting to who knows how much. The slick was set up perfect and Sam Bell and two of the crew were throwing down. Eventually everyone peaced out and I had it all to myself. It is amazing how much easier it is to hold a ton of kite in the butter flat. You can really edge for big airs.

It was a lot of fun but I cant wait to get back out at Metro!

OBX kicks ass! What a great trip! Super KK, JB and the Shaman represented the D in high style. Rippin huge on Sat. (Thanks again Joe for the 10m on downwinder #2.) Good wind, sunshine, some rain, used every kite we had, 5 Tibetans and the High Life. Wish we could have stayed for another week or at least until Mon Nite's at the Froggy Dog.
