My small kites and I will arrive in Tawas/Oscoda around noon tomorrow (Thursday). tongue.gif

Is anyone going to join me for one hell of a North session at Tawas State Park (First Parking Lot) or the Mia Tiki? Don't make me ride the 10ft waves alone! rolleyes.gif

Give me a jingle if anyone can make it.

Hey everyone we have a sick home base for KiteMare right on Tawas Bay in the State Camp Ground, check out the pic. Everyone can stop in warm up coffee, etc. but we can't all park here. Bring your gear up to the cabin and then we need to park by the guard shack. Vlad is bringing up my buggy and I have a land board for anyone not wanting to get in the water.

We could use some cups, Baileys or coffee liquor along with some hot cocoa if anyone can bring it with them. I am at the cabin right now with Internet access and the projector is showing my kite pictures from the past 2 years. Ryan, Victor, Greg, Arpod and I will be riding shortly.

Well, all survived the 4th Annual KiteMare Bash this weekend. It will go into the record books as topping last years event. Multiple sessions everyday in Tawas Bay and the State Park Cabin was a great changing area and party central for the entire weekend. Lots of new faces and many old ones showed up.

The highlights for Halloween costumes were a white rapper (DJ Turtle), freaky clown (Chris), hula fireman (Erik), escaped convict (Paul), Batman (Curtis) and I know there were more but for the life of me have no recollection!

I have hats, shirts, board shorts, kiteboard, chairs, pumps, bars/lines, wet suits, gloves and a couple un-metionables that were left in the State Park Cabin. I will post them all in the new Lost & Found Section later today with pictures.

I did not take one picture except for Thursday, so help me out if anyone has some. Email them to me at JohnW@KiteMI.com and I will post them in the photo gallery.

The new owners of the Mia Tiki are great people. The place will remain a resort and not be turned into condos as we previously thought. They are up updating all of the cabins and rooms over the next year and welcome kiteboarders. That is good news, the Mia Tiki is a great spot for big waves and down winders.

Until next time!

John

Wolfie has just posted more KiteMare 2007 pictures. I have paid my $150 deletion fee, so here are the ones that are OK to see.

From Wolfie:

If anyone finds any of these pics embarrassing and would like for me to delete them I will happily do so. Of course I will need to charge a deletion fee of $5 per photo.

I'll be giving Turtle a disc of the photos so that he can post them on this on this forum too.

Enjoy!
