Today was a great reminder for me to pay attention while rigging. I was way too busy talking and totally FUBARed my ride for an 11 mile downwinder in 18-25 knots and waves.

Tip #1 Try to have different color patterns for each size kite you own.

Tip #2 Be sure to use the right control system for the intended kite.

I did not follow tip #1 or #2 and ended up on a 14M Contra III (instead of my Crossbow III 12M which is exactly the same color layout) with a 1:1 Switchblade bar. Shocking that I could mess that much up and still get on the water, but the wind was so gusty that I just attributed the completely off feeling of the pull to the wind. By the time I figured it out we were an 1/8 mile into a down winder and I just decided to put the kite at 10 and follow the freight train for 11 miles. (Thanks to Joe B. & Tammy for the ride back to MK)

So it you have any questions about Cabrinha gear, new or old (been riding them since 2001), and my above mistakes have not scared you off, please post'em and I will do my best to help.
