Just got back from a week at Viva Tangerine Wyndham in Cabarete. Great all inclusive right on one of the best kiteboarding beaches in the world. Flew out of Toronto with Sunwing vacations. Great price of less than 1000 incl taxes per person double occ.
The food was really great. The wind was good on 5 of the 7 days. Wind usually picks up for an afternoon session only.
I found the kiting in the surf challenging and their were too many kiters for my comfort zone. On shore to side on shore. For me a 11m and 16m bow kite was all I needed. You could actually rent all your stuff at the beach. All in all a great kiting locale.

HI group,

Does anyone have any suggestions on an all inclusive resort in Cozumel, Mayan Riviera, Cuba, DR or Aruba that a beginer/intermediate can kite directly off of their beach.

I am looking for a vacation spot that offers a great beach (no coral, can self launch from etc) in front of or within walking distance of an all inclusive resort. Oh also would like side shore, on shore, or side on shore wind. The only place I have seen like this has been some of the resorts in Varadero Cuba....but it can get chilly for some days during February. Also It gets deep withing about 10 feet of the beach. Would be nice if it was shallow for a bit like MB or Belle River.

Thanks for any info,
Paul

I think that you are going to have a hard time finding an all-inclusive that offers everything that you want. Forget about Cozumel - just got back form there and all of the all-inclusive resorts are on the non-windy part of the island. You may find that to be the case with most all inclusives.

Punta Cana in the DR has all-inclusives and occasionally they get wind. You might want to check that out. Maybe try the Occidental Grand in Punta Cana. Maybe they can give you some info.

They Mayan Rivera should be exposed to the dominate northeasterly wind in that region, so you may find something there.

Here is a Kiteboarding instructor that has a primo spot in Cozumel right on the beach. He will set you up if this isn't what you are looking for.

You can contact him directly after visiting his site.

I hope this helps.
