Tim Blanchard used to fly this super cool pink kite. He flew it for years. It was really pink. Where has that thing been since it left Tim? Are the Great Lakes still blessed with the pink kite? I think we should start a news column all about the pink kite!

The pink kite is still alive but I believe has seen better days. It was one of the first inflatable I flew (funny enough the other inflatable I flew was a pink Wipika...) I think pink was in style at that time... maybe.
Rumour is that it is a proto from Ocean Rodeo (from 3 or 4 years ago?).

I think Tim should frame that kite to keep its soul alive for a long time.

The pink kite of death. I have had an experience with the pink kite. Tim let me use it one gusty day @ Belle River. My skill level at the time was not that good, but i thought no big deal.Started out everything was fine , then all of a sudden a gust hits the kite starts to loop, i try to spin the other way to get it un-tangled. The long and short of it got dragged about 200yds @ 50mph. I liked the kite up until then. Ever since then i stick to dark colored kites. Hate the pink kite.

Pink Kites are still in style but they must have pics of little honey bunnies on them!

the pink kite is all knowing; It knows if you have been naughty or nice.

guess you had been naughty if the kite gave ya spanking

anyway... the kite is pretty much torn to shreds now. The material is so thin now and faded that during a lesson last year it basically hit the water and tore all along the seams. The kite will be used this summer as a flag to the wind gods. Yes is was the 2 or 3 ocean rodeo prototype.

It was a great kite in 1999 when it was built by Ross Harrington of Ocean Rodeo

Good talk on the pink kite! Man, that thing has been around. A lot has changed in the sport of kiteboarding since then eh? And Tim has been there the whole time...wow. They do still make pink kites...I saw a bunch of them in Maui. Most of them were 'Pussy Kites'. Yep, that's right...an Italian company making kites has actually called themselves 'Pussy Kite'. They're designing all of their products for female riders. I'm assuming the word 'pussy' comes from pussy cat and is meant to create a female feel because girls are kittens or something like that. However, that's just an assumption! Who knows who thought that one up. Let's get some Pussy Kites out out Metro!
