The last couple of days I've been out well past dark. Last night the police where in the area with their lights on and I was sure they where coming after me. To my surprise they did not approach me. This has left me wondering on the legalities of kiting in the dark.

I've been doing some research today with both the Coast Guard and DNR in regards to the legality of it. To my surprise it's legal and there are no rules on it. They do recommend having a white light on your body to alert boaters of your presence. It would be best to have it in such a way that it can be seen from all directions. It can be constant or flashing just make sure it is not to bright. There is no need for any lights on the kite.

You have to love being classified as a water toy. biggrin.gif
