I was wondering if anyone has tried the short little snow skis with their kite?

I am just learning how to snowboard, so I pulled out my long downhill skis. I picked it up in minutes, but I think those short skis would work even better. The transition is a little tricky with long skis, but very cool.

I seen a Mini snowboard for adults, has anyone researched this new technology for snow kiting. Since the snowboard is 1/2 the size it looks much easier to move around on and with the kite to give you power it should be fine. I am doing some research on it so any information would be appreciated.

I thought the micro skis would work good and I should get a chance to try a pair out on Wed or Thurs (wind permitting). biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I do have an older pair of straight skis I could cut down for the ice.

What length do you reccommend for the cut down?

I have a couple of sets. One is just a few inches longer than my ski boot, and works great on crunchy, warm ice surfaces, but not on cold glare ice. I would recommend about 3-5 feet. I do know one guy that doesn't cut them down at all.

I am about 205 lbs, 5ft 9in give or take a 12 pack. some say husky or pudgy, I say big boned.

Will a ski shop do this for me, so I can have them reset the bindings correctly?

I doubt it. But you can ask.

Great information and thank you! I will let you know how it works out.

Your welcome.
And Lee Sedgewick in Erie PA reports that the ice on Presque Isle bay is completely frozen over, and might be safe to go out on this weekend.
