The nozzle on one of my struts has seperated from the bladder and leaks. There is no puncture. What do I use to glue it back?

Sad and flaccid,

I was afflicted with the dreaded BNSIS (badder/nozzle seal incompetence syndrome) last summer, with leaks occuring in all but one of the strut nozzles on one of my kites. Some of you may remember my attempt at a Three Stooges impersonation as I wrestled with my bladders at Metro last Fall.

In order to bond to the urethane bladder material, you need a urethane adhesive. After trying many adhesives, I finally found one that really works, AquaSeal. It's difficult to find (try a Googel search and get it mail order). This glue is great for putting on patches, so save those old bladders and cut them into patches for you own repar kit. A little goes a long way, but it does take half a day to dry so it's not so good for emergency repairs.

To glue the nozzles, I made a couple of custom tools that allow you to put glue between the nozzle and bladder, and clamp the two together securely. The clamps need to stay on overnight, so holding the thing beween your fingers gets old - hence the tool...

Prior to making the tool, I was able to glue little leaks (around 1/4" long or so) using clothes pins or small clamps. But it took several days to glue one nipple when it was almost completely unbonded, because you have to wait so long before doing the next small section.

Ask for more detail and I'll spill my knowledge to anyone that wants to listen.
