MDH, Im guessing you've yet to pop the Metro strawberry? Keep that gear handy and watch ardently for a sneaker session.

and no grabbing Tindy.

so far the summer in Montana has been great with hiking, biking, rafting, zipping, moose watching, etc. but Ive only managed one session on water. It was a good session but surely not getting enough. Having a bit of identity crisis here without getting my proper fix.

Can anybody help a brother out by telling me about the sweetness of the slicks or the warmth of the metro funk?

I have thought about this cuz you can feel more in some strap/boot setups. depends on the model and fit of the boot i think. if the fit is sloppy or the boot is soft it wont necessarily help. if the boot is snug and has a bit of stiffness I think there is plenty of extra support.

there is a pair of last years LF Centurys laying around the shop. mid flex. super light. slap on your stick and get some sessions on them, see what you think.

North has a new board, the Gambler that is good. they also have some kites and harnesses. if you want to know more check this out

http://detroitkiteboarding.com/2012-north-...-cape-hatteras/

or contact DKB.

here is some Hatty riding on the new stuff

how many unreal spots on Lake Michigan? just short of infinite it seems.

we were planning on riding South Haven yesterday but somehow we passed the exit and wound up hitting St. Joe, what a nice beach. sugary sand beach accompanied by a nice pier to create flat water and wrapping waves is what ya get.

it was blowing NW so we rode Silver Beach on the south side of the river. If its S try Oval beach on the north side. Be careful to not get sidetracked window shopping in Benton Harbor.

if you're hungry there try the Mediterranean Deli on the corner of Broad and Second, the falafel is fresh and big.

ill get a few pics up soon or maybe Jitters will give up some imagery.

Got some on the way, contact DKB if you want to test the hype.

nice job slingy, theyve really come on strong with Zoon crushing on the new kites and the wake crossover.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think "although Epic may have been under represented"? suspected snub job here? didnt purchase as much add space as SS?

well this west is still a firing. think i'll be headed back to the island today despite the protests from my body. after taking a month and a half off due to a torqued knee I got a full complement of heavy wind on Friday on the 11m Nirvana, that kite really tugs, very fast turning and huge depower for a C shape. On Saturday it was even windier, spent the day on the 8m Rebel half depowered, sooo much wind! thankfully the Rebel has such nice, non twitchy mannerisms when its blowing 35. lots of sending it with mid jump realizations ive got a bad knee then full back/ass landings - those things take their toll.

Duckhunter, I heard you a quacking but havent seen you around? where you hiding?

ive been riding and teaching with the '12 Envy a bit lately and gotta say its the best LF kite yet, they gettin it dialed in. better feel at the bar, grunty, fast turning, and forgiving in crappy wind. and the graphics are soooo sweet on the eyes.

big west coming for LSC this weekend, looks to have a hint of s in it so I'll be heading to Harsens Island to get me some Muskamoot goodness.

anybody else coming out other than DuckHunter? Ive been on the shelf for a bit and really looking forward to getting some riding in with everyone before I flee to the rockies.

I will have the new Envy and Nirvana from Liquid Force as well as the Rebel from North. If it really cranks I'll have some small kites around too.

Gear up for fall with some extra layers!

I use these two products to complement my wetsuits and keep me warm on the cold days:

Hyperflex Playa Hoodie: 2m neoprene top that blocks all wind on land or in water, was $119 now $89!

Hyperflex Amp thermal top: 1.5mm neoprene top that you can put on with board shorts or over a shortie/full suit to add to the warmth. Was $69, now $55!

Need smaller sizes? take off an additional $10 for small or medium sizes in hoody or thermal top!

All sizes currently in stock at Detroit Kiteboarding.

Contact me to arrange a demo if you want to feel whats up.
