For the record... I was not intending to, nor am I trying to accuse anyone of being biased. Joe and Brian have both been great in helping me learn to kite. But, in my opinion, there is a divide amongst riders in the area and from what I've seen and it seems to lye between Naish & Slingshot. Please don't miss understand, both Joe and Brien have given me non biased opinions on other manufactures kites. However I don't think anyone would argue that there is a tension between them that needs to be resolved. I appologize if my prior comments offended anyone. But I think a little clarification especially pertaining to this forum and the banning of Brian would be a step in the right direction.
On a slightly different note.... Looks like we're gonna have some good wind soon.........

There are no assumptions being made. I'm only saying that a simple post explaning the position on whats going on would be very helpful. This has been a very brand divided industry as far as the Michigan's concerned from my experiences with the sport. As I recall "This is a stricktly enforced non-profit Kiteboarding lifestyle discussion forum. We are not afiliated with retail shops and do not promote any specific products. The purpose of this forum is to allow local St. Clair kiteboarders to share local riding knowledge and to find the appropriate locations, time and people to ride with. Any retailers, manufacturers or retail specific advertising is discouraged and posts may be deleted at the discretion of the Administrators. " So as long as none of these rules are being broken, I'm just not seeing what the problem is. Beside that of one on a personal level between the two.

Alright... enough is enough. I've known both Brian and Joe for years. They are both good guys with excellent intentions. One PROBLEM. This bullsh*t drama that has been going down for like 7 years is killing the sport we all love. The only way that Kiting is going to grow, is if we all grow it together. You too both need to put the past behind you. Listen, you both know who I am. I wakeboard, surf, snowboard.... ect. I buy the best gear every year for all the sports I love. I'm not saying this to brag, but only to prove a point. I have yet to buy a kite or kiteboard. I borrow gear from whomever I'm out with. Why? Because I feel like if I buy a brand, that either one of you two reps for, the other one will get pissed. There shouldn't be this divide. I understand fully, that people have businesses to run, but the more that people that get this negative vibe from you two, the more people who aren't going to want to buy gear, or get into kiteboarding at all. It hurts everyone. Joe.... If it's a business descion with the site not to have Brian's shop advertised, say so. I don't believe anyone will fault you for trying to make a living. But not letting people post..... Dude, thats just not cool. I've competed selling gear with many of my good friends, but their still my friends at the end of the day. I'm not saying you're the only one at fault but you do have the power to step up and end this by clarifying a few things. Brian, I understand your frustration but faulting someone publically may not be the best way to go about getting your issues resloved. If you two need to work this out on a face to face level..... Do it!!!! But for the good of the sport and the good of those who love to ride with you, work this out.

Spreading the Aloha,
Brett
