Kindness pays off in Spades..

Following TOM'S lead (7 years ago I got 2 kites a harness and board for $650 bucks as he wanted to get me into the sport) I am going to do the same thing. I am flying home from BC in 6 weeks leaving the slopes behind and ready to hit the water.

I have a 17m Yarga and 8.5M Wipi Matrix for Sale $300 Each or 2 for $500. If you know if anyone looking to get into the sport they can beat the crap out of these kites. Both have no holes, no tears, will hold air for days, and come complete with bar and lines.

Looking to see some new faces on the beach this year. Ill be working for Tim all summer long living on the beach with nothing but sand in my flipflops and a few kites.

Hope to make enough coin to make it to kitemare.

Hey Guys

Im looking for a quiver of lightly used C kites as well as 2 other easy relaunch beginner/ intermediate kites for the girlfriend.

I will be in Windsor shortly so i dont have a problem meeting someone by detroit / metro area.

Looking for a price around 600 complete for each kite and maybe like 500 each for the beginner kites.

Please let me know if anyone is selling there stuff.

Thanks

Nick - that sucks - I'm in the same boat. Had my MRI last month. Blown ACL - for the third time. I've had two previous reconstructions. I'm debating what I'm going to do. What Doctor are you going to.

Heres what you need to do. Get a skimboard for the weedy places and a surfboard (strapless) for all other conditions. Its a great way to recover and when shit goes bad you dont have a board on your feet.

Take a read you wont be disappointed

http://www.thechickenloop.com/index.php?op...787&catid=2

"You'll be pleased that he's wearing an IKO approved helmet.

I'm pretty sure there is a swim-zone violation in here somewhere, and that someone borrowed a pool but never returned it.

Sadly you'll never see a repeat of this feat, since the publication of this video has caused the entire sport to be banned, worldwide. The ban itself represents the first true international law of it's kind, a model for banning all extreme sports everywhere, forever.

Thanks to an alert soccer mom in Keswick, the MFPSK (mother's for pot smoking kids) chapter in Keswick got right on this, contacted the United Nations (and the Township of Georgina) to prevent anyone from trying this ever again, and perhaps more importantly to prevent people from parking in front of their houses.

Ottawa, the city that fun forgot, applauded the action, siting that since the the slide can control direction, that the water sliders should now be classified as a vessel, and all participants AND spectators within a 50m radius of the pool need an approved PFD.

After the ban, all of the other extreme water sliders bickered with one another that the ban was due to bad launching etiquette.

Meanwhile, Gameboy, and Guitar Hero scores are at an all time high"

Due to the positive response from everyone for the kiteboarding and camping event planned for memorial day weekend, The GLK crew has decided to turn this into a full blown Demo event! So come on up to Tawas State Park and check out the 09' line-ups of the latest and greatest--

-Best (This years lineup of the Kahuna, Nemesis, and Waroo are getting awesome reviews so far)
-Slingshot (the new RPM should be pretty nice!)
-Wainman (the 12m "Boss" got my 235lb ass up in about 10kts of wind!!!)
-And a whole crap load more!

Although the kiting will be much dependent on the wind (and as any of you know who have kited in Tawas , its pretty damn dependable!) the boozing and antics will not be...so bring your drinking hats along with your kites!!!

Our plan is to find campsites at the Tawas State Park, and if all else fails there is always tent city and Mai Tiki. Oh yeah...heres the link for the facebook signup.

I just got approved so I can take off the Friday and Monday. Ill be there early friday morning (swinging by the shop to say hi to sam) or very late Thursday night and finding a place to camp smile.gif

After over 4 hours of viewing all the videos, the diversified panel of 7 judges unanimously voted in Sam Medysky, Ian Alldredge, and Petter Johnson to fill the three wildcard positions for the 2009 Triple-S Invitational. These riders, along with 21 others, will travel to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina and re-define once again what is possible for the sport of kiteboarding.

Sam Medysky is from the Toronto Ontario area and we wish him all the best.

Hey Guys and Ladies of the Hatteras Trip

I was just wondering who was going down and if anyone had room for a 130lbs guy. I dont take up much room and ill be more then willing to put in my fair share of gas money back and forth.

I was just wondering if anyone had any extra room. Im going to be coming down from Toronto so I can meet pretty much anywhere within an hour of the boarder. Only thing is I would need somewhere to put my car.

The only reason im not going to drive is I dont know if old Betsey would make it.

One major one they left out was KITESTOCK in Mitchells bay Ontario hosted by Surf Culture Canada

Summary

June 6-8 2008 will go down as the the first ever 3 for 3 kitestock event, with 3 straight days of winds over 15kts. Over 250 kiters hit the water over the 3 days and lots of media and spectators were present to check out what all the buzz was about.

check it out at

http://www.surfculturecanada.ca/kitestock_08.html

It was a blast last year.

Hey Curt take a look at this

iwave started a topic about surfboards (http://www.kiteforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2355429), and included a list of interesting contenders. I wasn't aware of most of these before, but I went to the web sites and read about them. They all sound pretty cool.

Underground FreeWave http://www.powerlinesports.com/shop/pc/vie...p?idproduct=534

Airush ChopTop http://www.airush.com/products/choptop.html

Placebo SurfSkate http://www.placebo1.com/surfskates.html

North FreeStyleFish http://www.powerkiteshop.com/north-freesty...h-kiteboard.htm

Royal High Five http://www.royalkiteboarding.com/hi5.cfm

Neat to see this many new choices for directionals.

Tell me what you think ...i know they are a little out of the price range but cool non the less.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions. Lefeve thanks for the heads up im going to take you up on that demo offer.

You are going to have to show me around when i'm in the area this summer.

Im just getting to know the kiteboarding places myself but I can do my best and we can hook up with the local kite scene up here. It going to be a rocking summer. Almost every weekend I will be in Mitchells bay....for some sweet flat water riding.
