I know I can find the metro wind at

http://www.sailflow.com/windandwhere.iws?r...windgraphAnchor

It gives me a nice little chart so I can tell if it's blowing before I drive out. I also like looking at the chart to figure out what time of the day it starts blowing and when it has been stopping. I know tawas usually has wind, but where can I get the same kind of wind report for Tawas? The closest thing I could find on sailflow was that wurtsmith buoy.

I went out to tawas for the first time last weekend, I had the ozone catalyst 14m the big white liquid force board and the purple shirt.

Eric

Windfinder.com

tawas never goes according to the forcast thou there isint much of a point in looking.

Hey everyone,

I'm moving to Ann Arbor this fall for grad school and I'm hoping to find some fellow students (or anyone living in the Ann Arbor area) to kite with. I learned last spring and I've just started jumping, backrolls are the next on my list of things to do. Mostly just looking for some fun, responsible people to ride with! And always down for a cold beer after a good session.

Planning to be in mid-Michigan for a week, and I hope to spend a day or two at Tawas.

I see iKitesurf provides a Wurtsmith forecast. (nearby)
What are the other recommended weather forecast resources for Tawas?

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THE FORECAST.

Anyone who rides up there will tell you they are almost never right. Just go and you will probably find wind.

I really want to make it up to Tawas this summer. I understand there's no good wind gauge or forecast table for that spot because it thermals in weird ways.

Is there an easy way to tell when it's going to be worth the 3 hour drive for me?

Make the drive up and spend the weekend whenever you can. the glk family was up just about every weekend last summer and it was windy most of the time. even when its not windy thou there are some great things to go do, we hit up the trails and river at lumbermans monument whenever the wind takes a dive.

Not talking about just enough to float the board. Normal wakeskates are being pulled by 300 hp. I will add to this later no time now.

ok let me know what you mean rick im not understanding

p.s. i saw your rails over at the blue lagoon yesterday nice job man

Small board with no float it will take 30 mph of steady wind to use it. It may need to be foam core.

this shouldn't have a problem floating rick its the same construction that normal wakeskates have and they float just fine
