Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying all the snow! I can’t remember the last time we have had this much snow, but I am totally stoked since the winds this winter have been incredible. We are still teaching snowkiting, so if you still want to try it out this winter then give us a call and we will be happy to get you stoked on the sport. Remember that learning in the snow is much easier and transferring your snowkiting skills to water can make the progression a cinch.

We have our annual GLK Hatteras trip coming up in less then a month and half away. This is such a great trip to progress your kiting skills or to learn kiteboarding. Hatteras is one of the windiest places in the world and has some of the most ideal for conditions for wave riding, flat water sessions, surfing and Stand up Paddle boarding. If you have never kited then this is the place to learn. I have personally been going down to Hatteras for over 15 years and don’t know too many places that compare to the variety of conditions for waves and flat water. We spend 1 week in a couple of 7 to 9 bedroom houses right on the water. Imagine waking up in the morning stepping out your backyard, rigging your kite and taking a morning session before breakfast. Or learning in the most ideas flat and shallow water conditions from one of the longest running schools in the US. We take you to the best spots in Hatteras for long down winders on the Ocean side or the flat water slicks of sound side. At the end of the day we relax in the Jacuzzi with a few beers, cook some killer dinners and talk about the amazing sessions owe had that day. We are booking now and need payment for the trip by March 1st. Price will be $350 per person. For more info on the trip check out our vacations page at: http://www.greatlakeskiteboarding.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=10&Itemid=10.

Best Kiteboarding has a new killer kite called the Taboo. The Taboo range represents a new concept in building the ultimate quiver of high performance kites. Each size of the Taboo is uniquely engineered to optimize performance for specific riding conditions. Every aspect of design, shaping, material selection and construction has been tested and selected to create the ultimate ride in every kite size. We are totally excited about these new kites especially because their light wind 17m is winning almost every course racing event. GLK will also be carrying the new V3 Kahuna which has been one of our best selling models. They have improved performance this year with a new ripstop coating that enhances tear strength and keeps the kite crispy. They also added A & B settings on the kite to increase versatility on the kite for lighter and heavier bar pressures. Best also added a 3.5mfor the groms and smaller women.
