Kite U.S. Forums _ Northern Michigan _ Looking for someone to practice with

Posted by: Will B Jun 20 2010, 08:00 PM

I just got into kiteboarding 6 months ago and i'm staying up in Saginaw, Michigan for a 10 week summer internship. This weekend, i took two days of lessons up in Tawas and got some practice with board starts in the water and had a few short rides. I feel that i understand all the concepts well, it's just a matter of learning to do them. Right now i'm at the point where i can control the kite and make my way out into the lake and set up for the board start. I'm looking for someone to practice with who is at about the same level as me. As you probably already know, it can be pretty difficult to practice by yourself when you are just mastering board starts and getting some short rides.

Also, I forgot to mention that I have my own gear

Will, take a look at this section of our forum http://www.kiteus.com/forums/index.php?showforum=17

This is where most everyone from the East Coast of Michigan posts when they are riding including trips to Tawas. Also check http://www.KiteMI.com for all of the riding spots, safety and directions for Lake Huron & Lake St Clair including a list of all the shops and schools.

See you on the water!

John
