This winter is heading towards the record books after the past few years of sub par cold weather. We have more options open for snow kiting that most years and lakes are still freezing and adding even more options.

All of the small to large lakes in the Traverse City area have frozen and have solid ice. Very large lakes like Elk Lake and Torch Lake have just frozen in the past two weeks and they add huge areas of potential.

We have solid snow pack and most lakes have over 10" of snow and some like Manistee Lake have closer to 30".

This weekend is shaping up nicely as we have another blast of cold air coming down from the Arctic. For the latest snow and ice reports check out http://www.h2okiteboarding.com/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=2
