Kite U.S. Forums _ Kitesnowboarding _ Found a farm for us!

Posted by: jlatino Dec 29 2004, 04:16 PM

The farmers name is Mike Chappel and is super cool. He grows wheat. The farm is located at 32 mile and Romeo Plank Road, NE corner.

17750 Gilmore Road. Gilmore is a block north of 32 mile off of Romeo Plank. I would suggest taking M-53 (Van Dyke) north to 32 mile and then hang a right.

I can't tell you how many acres it is but am guessin' it's a bit larger than 1/4 mile wide north to south and 3/4 mile long east to west. It's pretty flat with a ditch near the east end but certainly small enough to jump.

Please introduce yourself and let him know you are there along with any other "niceities".

I would say park on Gilmore.

I didn't have the time to look for properties that were more North South but with a little bit of driving it shouldn't be too hard, there are lot's of farms out there.

I simply knocked on the door, had the last edition of kiteboarding magazine with me that showed the kitesnowboarding and whala.

The forecast looks better for friday, but I will be there tomorrow morning if the forecast changes.

By the way, I have a scuba tank and am looking for a first stage and accesories for filling. I will be bringing the tank tomorrow. Please let me know if you have something for sale or can bring it along for us to use.

Any questions call me at 313 207 1623.

Took a drive out to the farm yesterday and still saw clumps a dirt.

Looks like it will need a decent base, 6-8 inches before it's usable.
