Kite U.S. Forums _ Where are you riding on the Great Lakes? _ Metro Beach later this week

Hello,

I've only been to Metro Beach to kite once, over a year ago, but this weekend I'm going to have some free time and it looks like we might get a good thermal day or two. If there's breeze and I show up, what are the chances someone else will be there?

Cheers,

Matt

Matt,
If it is blowing over 10 out of the South there will always be someone at metro. On a North, we ride at Blue Lagoon Marina just to the north of Metro. You can also get updates on Facebook, we have a page called Metro Beach Kiteboarding Team where everyone posts when they are going. Sean

Thermals are difficult to predict at metro because a hot day does not necessarily generate a thermal it's the difference between water & air temperature, so if the water is too warm it won't go off.

Sign up for sessionalert.com someone will usually post if they are going.

If there is a south fresh breeze (> 16 knots) there is a 99% chance someone will be there.

MDH, Im guessing you've yet to pop the Metro strawberry? Keep that gear handy and watch ardently for a sneaker session.
