Hello East Side,

We are looking forward to seeing a bunch of you on Lake Michigan this weekend.

Please, if you have not registered and are coming to play or compete register now.
You get dinner at the Kirby on Saturday Night and a t-shirt. Of course you also get to compete if you want to.
I need a head count by tomorrow afternoon so any registrations would be greatly appreciated.

Please take 5 minutes now.

Thanks,

Steve

PW,

This event is sweet for everybody, grasshoppers to ninjas. The beaches on the west side are huge with plenty of room to spread out. The south and sw winds in the forecast are side-shore and side-on. There may be a wholotta kites and if its sunny plenty of beach goers so you must be aware. Its not the flat water butter and shallow stand-up-and-walk-if-you-got-a-problem easy cruising of Metro though. The water gets deep and when it blows it can get some rough chop and nice waves - challenging.

I say beaches because the daily riding spot will ideally be Grand Haven but if the wind is of a more favorable angle or pump at Muskegon or Little Sable Point then thats where it'll be thrown.

The best part of the event though is the kiters that will be on the beach. You'll meet a whole bunch of west side locals as well as riders from Chicago, Wisconsin, Canada, da UP eh, and who else knows where. You'll see all kinds of kites and boards of the cutting edge, homemade, and well ridden variety. And maybe you'll get inspired by all the styles and smiles - if its windy Big Smiles.

Go check it out and register for the dinner party at least, I did.

John,

Great shots...

I love the one of Erik standing between those two girls..I think something is hidden behind that strategically placed board.

Good close-up of that unhooked railey!
