Kite U.S. Forums _ Events _ Kiteboarder Mag coming to LkStClair

Posted by: KyleK Sep 3 2004, 04:17 PM

Hey Everybody,

Kiteboarder Magazines Ryan Riccitelli will be in Detroit Sept 7, 8, and 9 checking out all the hot spots on Lake St. Clair. He will be joined by Red Bull and Naish international rider Adam Koch. We'll be watching the wind and it looks like Mitchells Bay is the spot for Monday. All area riders are encouraged to come out and represent.

On Tuesday evening Red Bull, Kiteboarder Mag, Surf Culture Canada, and DetroitKiteboarding will host a shindig at Fishbones in StClairShores. We will be gathering around 8:00 for the premier of the new Naish team vid "13 Daze". Come and check out some of the sickest riding captured on film, play some free pool, get loose and warmed up for the King of the Great Lakes weekend.

Is Adam competing in Grand Haven?

Posted by: JoeBidawid Sep 4 2004, 01:30 PM

The last time I spoke to Adam, he was not planning on competing in the KOTGL. He seemed really excited to be back in Detroit.

Kyle was able to get his hands on a copy of "13dayz". This movie is not released yet but comes straight from the production company, so I don't think Adam has seen it yet, should be very cool.

For those of you not familliar with fishbones. They are located at 23722 jefferson in St. Clair shores (zip 48080) around the 9 mile and jefferson area. If you need to contact them, the phone number is 586-498-3000.

When I was sitting on the picnic bench with Ben Meyer and Leshi Miller at Kite Beach in Maui last month, they kept begging Greg Drexler for a copy of this movie "13 Dayz." I couldn't figure it out - because "13 Days is a recent movie in the movie theather. Finally I asked them who was in it, and they responded Ben and I. Pretty cool moment, and they said it should be an awsome movie.
Great Opportunity. Can't Wait.

Kyle, Where were you on Monday. Metro Beach was pretty good early in the day and then the wind slowly dropped off. I started off with a 12 m and then switched to a 16m.

What a day on Monday! It was perfect! Windy, sunny, flat warm water and a great group of people. Monday morning we were about 25 people to jump on April's plateform boat for a super kiting expedition in the middle of lake St-Clair.
Lots of beer, Red Bull, burgers, salmon, veggies and whatever else was there to keep everyone full.
Lots of action with people ripping all around the humongeous boat we had. It was a day to remember. Thanks a lot April, Tim and captain Dan for all the effort you put in. It was well appreciated. laugh.gif
