Kite U.S. Forums _ Knowledge Center _ Water Re-launch Expedited

I observed a couple of relaunch struggles yesterday. A tip for easier and quicker relaunching your crashed kite:

Once you get the kite flipped onto its back you want the kite to move to the edge of the wind window. Sometimes with good wind down low the kite will get there pretty easily on its own. Other times it can be not so quick, the kite will lazily move or want to turn back down on its face. You can cut the downtime in half by walking the opposite way that the kite is going.

For instance- the kite falls face down and you flip it with a fifth line or by traditional means. Once on its back the kite will naturally begin to move to your right or left. If it starts to go left you should start to walk or swim to the right and downwind. The kite will be at the edge much quicker and ready for relaunch.

I would like to share another tip that was given to me yesterday.

One of my problems was that I was not keeping the lines tight when moving to the edge of the window.
