Kite U.S. Forums _ Knowledge Center _ My light wind board

Posted by: elkusbry Jun 13 2006, 05:19 PM

hey all just finished my light wind board. I took the basic design that steve martin posted up and threw it up on autoCAD. I played witht he angle of curves and cut out the pattern on our autoCAD table at school. Then i spent a little time on designing the graphics and cut those out also on the cad table layed them down and painted over it. then applied a couple layers of varnish to seal out the water. I'm hoping i dont need to use it this weekend but i really want to try it out. Ill let you all know how it rides. Hopefully its aswell as steve's rode.

its about 17" by 59" with OAK

PS. Tom's is on the painting table, comming soon.

For those who think in metric
= 124 cm
= 43 cm

For those who like it in metric feet (Surveyors/CEngineers)
= 4.083'
= 1.417'

A little on the small side for a light wind board, then again if it works, what do I know

My light winds class boards are 135 X 47 and 149 X 46

Brenda (our waitress at kitestock) is offically in the books as the name of the Elkus kite. Even Elkus himself finally called her Brenda over the weekend, we need no more proof. Brenda worked him over this weekend, he rode Brenda all weekend.

^^^ i did nothing of the sort... LIER!!! biggrin.gif

blaaaa whatever

and yeah ur right Noabacca that is small and then i realized the fumes must have gotten to me last night when i was painting cause it should be just under 60" - similar size to the glide but a different shape. (i think im going to try a more glade shape for the next one.)

about 150cm for u metric people i think.

I've already got a plywood "GLIDE"

How much for one of your custom paint jobs on my Hink???
I'll remove the stickers and prep/clean the board.

Board is 150 cm X 46 cm

59 and 1/16" X 18 and 2/16" for the carpenters in the audience.

So how are you doing the paint job, by hand, spray, Computer Controlled?

its defenatly a possibility to have boards made. east lansing customs? lol

yeah i do the designs on illistrator and then cut them out on a computer controled corrugated cutting table. it works much better with simple designs. but we can defenatly talk.
